A Comparative Performance Analysis of Optical Fibre System with FBG Compensated SMF for High Data Rate

Abstract

This paper describes simulation study of optical fibre system with and without using Fibre Bragg Grating (FBG) for high data rate. A comparative analysis of optical fibre system performance based on OPTISYSTEM 13.0 has been made for various data rates and input powers with and without using FBG. Fibre Bragg Grating is used to compensate the dispersion accumulated over the fibre length. All the simulation is done in OPTISYSTEM 13.0 simulation software. The simulated transmission system has been analysed on the basis of different parameters, which are BER, Q-factor, Output power and Eye height.
