Knowledge Regarding Immunization among Primimothers in Selected Maternity Centre at Salem

Abstract


: A descriptive study with cross sectional survey approach was undertaken to assess the knowledge regarding immunization among primimothers in Annadhanapatti maternity centre, Salem. Fifty samples were selected by structured sampling technique and data was collected from mothers by using closed ended questionnaires method. Its shows that highest percentage (52%) of the primimothers belongs to the age group of 20-25 years, 52% of the primimothers had primary education, 44% of the primimothers were house wives and 32% of primimothers family income of Rs.4000-6000 per month. 50% of primimothers were in joint family. Majorities (60%) of them were from urban area and 60% of the primimothers they didn’t attended any immunization class. Overall mean score was (13.7±2.5) which is 46% of maximum score reveals average knowledge of primimothers regarding immunization.
